God gives us a proper perspective for life in his word.

“You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood,
and they have given you the wisdom to receive
the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.”

It’s often a struggle for photographers to communicate a sense of perspective in their pictures. Including a person in a picture helps with perspective. You don’t realize how massive this waterfall is until you see the fisherman in the middle right of the picture.

It’s easy to lose perspective in life.

Influential voices might keep us from hearing God’s proper perspective even when those voices belong to loving friends and family. The voice or voices inside of us might also be a stumbling block to this perspective.

This proper perspective for living is found in God’s word. This is why knowing Scriptures is important.

The Scriptures present God’s desire for our lives. We lose our ability to discern God’s perspective for us when we take his word of out of our lives.

This doesn’t mean we’ll always like what God’s word says, but we trust that it is his word of life, a word that always leads us to God’s gifts of forgiveness and life.
