New Beginnings

The soul’s springtime.

These blossoms are just the beginning of something to come. They spring forth after a long winter dormancy when one might suspect a tree to be dead if one based the life of a tree on whether it had leaves or fruit on it. The appearance of these lovely blossoms is assurance that this tree will bear fruit again.

Like this tree, we also go through seasons in our lives. Seasons of letting go, seasons of rest or dormancy, seasons of new awakenings, and seasons of fruit-FULLness and harvests. We, like nature, go through death and resurrection cycles as the Holy Spirit grows us into maturity in Christ.

What season is your soul in? Do you see any fresh buds emerging promising new things to come on the horizon? Do you feel new hope and freedom stirring in your heart? Perhaps you are experiencing a spiritual springtime. What graces might you ask for from the Life Giver in this season?

Dear Redeemer-God, thank you for new beginnings. We rejoice in the beauty You will always bring after our hard winter waitings. I pray You would grant those of us experiencing a soul-springtime the courage to hope in You and the grace to depend on You for whatever new thing You are bringing forth in us and through us for Your praise and glory. Amen.

“Faithfulness springs forth from the earth and righteousness looks down from heaven.
The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.
Righteousness goes before Him and prepares the way for His steps.”
Psalm 85:11-14 New International Version
