Perspective

He is in the Details.

We are so very small. In this photo, my daughter has managed to capture 305 feet of a national icon in between her thumb and finger.  If you look very carefully, you can see how small the people look who are standing at the base of the structure near her thumb.  When I try to imagine how big God is compared to us and realize how small we are compared to Him it looks a bit like this. I stand in greater awe when I realize that this picture isn’t even close in expressing how big our God is. This is why we use such big words to describe Him, omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. How it is possible that a God so unimaginably magnified cares for us at all, let alone all the tiny details of our lives?SAM_2017

“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;
What is man that You take thought of him,
And the son of man that You care for him?”

Psalm 8:3-4 New American Standard Version

Yet He does care. Our God is big enough to care about the smallest details of our lives. Because of His great love He cares for you. If He cares for you then He cares about everything that concerns you. There is nothing insignificant or unnoticed about you.

Still He doesn’t stop there!

“Yet You have made him a little lower than God,
And You crown him with glory and majesty!
You make him to rule over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
All sheep and oxen,
And also the beasts of the field,
The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea,
Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.”

Psalm 8:5-8 New American Standard Version

He has given us responsibilities. There is only one way to respond to the love and respect God gives us. We return it, with our love and praise.

“O Lord, our Lord,
How majestic is Your name in all the earth!”

Psalm 8:9
