oct-03-98-of-1A lot of work went into chopping down a tree and stacking this wood for future use. Without this wood there would be no fire to keep a home warm in the cold winter, or to light a campfire to prepare food. It’s worth the hard and continuous work.

“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!  For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.”
Ephesians 5:8 New Living Translation

God asks us to invest in our lives with Him by fanning the flames of His fire through consuming the fuel of His word.  Just as a fire must be tended to so it won’t flame out, God asks us to nurture our relationship with Him through studying His word. God’s word and the Holy Spirit work together to give us the fuel we need for this life. We can warm our hearts with His love, cut the deadwood out of our lives and ignite the spiritual fire in our souls to illuminate the way for others to see Him–and know the warmth of His love!

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.  No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”
Matthew 5:14-16 New Living Translation
