Daydreaming

I could get lost in this space.

ls-58As a boy I would ask myself…
How high does this tree go?
How high can I climb?
Can I use that one branch to cross the brook without getting wet?
A little older…
Can I hide behind it’s gnarled trunk?
Is that low branch a nice reading seat?
Will a hammock hang between some of those stalks?
And later perhaps…
Is there shade from the sun?
Can I trust it to lean on?
Will it be there next week?

 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
    let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
    and extol him with music and song.
Psalm 95:1-2 New International Version

Our Father is here for us in the way we need Him to be, when we need Him. Stronger than any tree, more enduring than any mountain and kinder than the gentlest breeze.
