Walk for Life

Wonderfully Made.

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14 English Standard Version.

This is an ultrasound picture of my first nephew, Jameson. He was born on February 15, 2017 to my sister and her husband. Every time my wife and I receive a new picture of Jameson, or whenever we get to visit, he changes so much and so quickly.

On Saturday June 3rd, I got the privilege to set up a booth with my boss, and a coworker, at the Walk for Life in Memorial Park, in Colorado Springs. What an amazing day full of fellowship with so many believers gathering together to walk, run, or just hang out with the purpose of celebrating the life that only God gives us, and breathes into us.

Why is life so precious? Because the One True God of the universe knits us together, it is he who gives life. He knows how many hairs are on our head, he knows every word that is to come out of our mouth long before those words are spoken, he knows our thoughts, struggles, fears, and all of our needs. There are more than seven billion human beings alive on this earth. Who knows how many people populated the earth in the times before records were kept, and who knows how many more will live after we are gone? God does – he knows every single one of us better than we know ourselves. He knows us so deeply and intimately, as if each of us were the only human being in the world.

How beautiful it is that God created you! He loves you, and the very reason for your existence is so that God can be glorified through you. Furthermore, you are created because God wants a personal relationship with you, and through Christ, that you may spend eternity in His presence.
